MISSION STATEMENT - To serve our community, people and nations in a way that people find their identity and dignity in God, through Jesus Christ and a biblical worldview.
YWAM Recife was the first base established in the northeast region of Brazil. It was founded in 1987 by Pastor Jaime Araújo, together with his wife Maristela. Today YWAM exists in 7 states of the Northeast with more then 160 full time staff.
During these years of working in the city of Recife and metropolitan region, we have developed different social projects, with a special focus on the ‘younger half’ which are children at risk.
Each year we mobilize more then 100 students and volunteers and have 70 full time missionaries.
YWAM Recife is an international base which each year receives people from diverse nations. Among our staff we have 10 different nations represented, and because of this our schools are offered in Portuguese and English; enriching our relationships beyond our borders and strengthening our vision for cross-cultural missions.
